Kingsbridge PUD / seminary dormitories
The Reformed Theological Seminary can now replace planned apartment-style student housing with dormitories capped at 163 beds — far below the original 750-student plan, meaning less traffic. Neighbors got legal assurance the adjacent Kingsbridge East tracts are untouched.
Vote threshold to remove the city manager
It takes four council votes to hire a city manager but only three to fire one. Members split on whether both should be three or four, with concerns raised about supermajorities and about managers taking office without broad support.
Roll-call vote requirement in charter
A second draft amendment would remove the mandatory roll-call vote on ordinances and resolutions, switching to voice votes while keeping the rule that every member votes and every vote is recorded. Supporters say roll calls invite gamesmanship; skeptics note voters may think transparency is being stripped away.
