Nature Walk Subdivision land-use amendment
Summary
A failed golf course off Highway 390 could become a 116-home subdivision, and the whole neighborhood showed up to push back. Residents worry about traffic on already-congested 390, construction trucks through their streets, drainage into Mill Bayou and the Landings, kids' safety near the Meadows park, and losing the only affordable public golf course this side of the bridge. The commission tabled the decision to December 1 to research a similar 2015 proposal that was unanimously denied.

Impact analysis
Estimated impacts include about 290 new residents, 36 students, 676 extra daily car trips, 39,150 gallons/day of water demand and 30,740 gallons/day of sewer demand; one speaker estimated neighboring homes could lose roughly 15% of their value if the golf course disappears.
The property owners and future homebuyers, plus the city's tax base if the subdivision is ultimately built.
Neighbors of the golf course face traffic, construction, drainage and safety burdens, and golfers lose the area's only public course this side of the bridge.
