Regional Sports Complex Public Access
National pickleball organizations want to come to Clay County but deals with the private HUB facility keep stalling over payment terms. Council member Kevin Robert floated building 16+ covered courts at the county sports complex.
Black Creek Boat Ramp deterioration
Middleburg resident Charles Griffin says the ramp has no ADA compliance, missing handrails, open electrical boxes and unsafe water in the bathrooms, and asked commissioners across districts to find funding.
Sun Trail expansion along Long Bay Road
The county is buying small parcels along Long Bay Road for the SUN Trail; this piece costs $8,786.36 and total acquisitions should stay under $120,000, since the $17M state construction grant can't buy land.
Parks impact-fee projects
Parks Director Justin Pierce laid out more than 40 master plan projects — new parks in Oakleaf, developing Antler Run and Boyd Park, Lake Geneva and Lake Brooklyn improvements. Old parks' lighting isn't funded because impact fees can't pay for lights, frustrating the board, which wants that reexamined in next year's impact fee study.
Historic marker program progress
The St. Mary's Episcopal Church marker cleared state approval and goes into production. But another group got its own Middleburg Colored School marker application approved first, creating a conflict the board hopes to resolve by working together.
Green Cove Springs Library Access Safety
A resident flagged unsafe ramp and door access at the library; the library director promised to meet with facilities staff the next morning and report back.
Black Creek Ravines expansion and water management partnership
The Little Bear parcel borders Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area and could add trails, kayak access, and better prescribed-burn capability — but only if the water management district shares the cost and manages the land.
