Duke Energy FDR substation expansion
Duke Energy says northeast Polk's growth means it must expand the substation near Davenport — but that means shaving the residential setback in half and adding 70-foot lightning masts next to townhomes. Staff says fencing and buffers keep the effective separation at about 100 feet.
$250 Million Utility Revenue Bonds
Consultants recommend roughly doubling reclaimed water rates to match potable irrigation rates, raising connection fees to $11,449 per home, adding a septage fee, and issuing $218 million in bonds for $1 billion in capital needs. Commissioners said they need more time before a July 21 hearing.
Toho Water Authority expansion in Point Siena
Toho wants to reclassify 12 acres near Marigold Avenue so it can expand its water treatment plant — capacity the fast-growing Point Siena area badly needs. Part of the site is also earmarked for future neighborhood-commercial uses.
