Animal control facility

Said the 1988 shelter is deteriorating with nothing in the five-year capital plan for it and asked why the county isn't building a new facility.

Said the 1988 facility can't handle county growth toward a million residents, called for an animal committee and public outreach, and supported a spay/neuter funding program.

Called for a new Animal Control facility to replace the 1988 building, said volunteers can't access it, and demanded an animal advisory committee — with herself on it.

Thanked Commissioner Troutman for explaining cold-weather protections for shelter animals and formally asked the county to build a new animal control facility, calling it infrastructure.
