Weedon Island Preserve funding

Archaeologist urged the board not to defund Weedon Island, calling the lease a social contract and citing its 5,000-year human history and public archaeology programs.

Alliance president warned defunding would risk looting of archaeological sites, cemeteries, and reduced safety and programming.

Echoed preserve comments, noting the county's density and lack of green space, and said $847,000 can be found elsewhere.
