Planning department fee increases

Argued the sharply higher appeal fees — up to $8,679 for a DOAH appeal — are unconstitutional and price out ordinary homesteaders who sometimes have no choice but to appeal code liens.

Suggested appeal fees should be scaled to discourage frivolous appeals but said the magnitude concerns him as small businesses and families face mounting pressure.
