The county is rewriting the rules for food trucks, produce stands, and fireworks vendors — how many trucks per parcel, what 'temporary' means, who must grant permission, and whether trucks can set up on agricultural land. Vendors say the draft is vague and could kill small businesses; rural residents say permanently parked trucks don't belong next to horse farms. The board sent the whole thing back for a rewrite.
Silver Springs CRA TIF rebate for Home2Suites hotel
The CRA was asked to approve a rebate grant agreement returning tax increment funding to the developer of a Home2Suites hotel at 5495 NE 25th Street, capped at $960,000. It's a tool to attract hotel investment to the Silver Springs redevelopment corridor using future tax growth from the site itself.
