Sidewalk deferral denial appeal — 19 infill lots, District 8
Jacksonville Homes is appealing the city's refusal to defer sidewalk requirements on 19 lots near Main Street and Duval Station Road. The developer says sidewalks there would dead-end at ditches and utility poles on privately maintained roads; Public Works says the fast-growing area, school bus stops and the walkshed demand sidewalks now. The hearing continues December 1 after a district council member site visit.

Chaffee Road South Widening Property Acquisition
The city can now buy — or condemn — property along Chaffee Road South for the widening project from Normandy Blvd to I-10, with offers up to 25% above appraised value and up to $100,000 in business damages. Construction is expected to wrap in 2030.
