Solid Waste Authority master plan

A 37-year Broward resident urged the commission to approve the plan, calling it affordable ("less than a cup of coffee per year per household") and essential before landfill capacity runs out.

Representing Waste Connections, the city's disposal partner of 13 years, he warned the 40-year deal has no real exit, no fixed rates, and that $2.22 per ton could escalate to $15.26 by year 40 under the proposed index.
