Offensive accumulation at 53 Highland Avenue

The next-door neighbor described months of accumulating furniture and debris, police activity on the street for two weeks, people living in a car, and a backyard fire that made her fear the whole neighborhood would burn. She wants the situation resolved.

The tenant said the house was not up to code when she moved in, that she had an agreement with the landlord to clean it up in exchange for pay, and that her son's serious illness upended her income. She accused the landlord of striking her and her 10-year-old child and breaking a fence with an axe, which she said is why the gate was secured.
